Growing Spaces® offers four different greenhouse installation options depending on the size of your Growing Dome®:
- Owner Self-Install (available for all sizes)
- Supervisor Only (available for 15′ through 33′)
- Supervisor + 1 Crew (available for 22′ through 42′)
- Full Crew Installation (available for all sizes)

Owner/Self Installation
The DIY option is available for all sizes. Building a greenhouse from Growing Spaces is easy when following the instructions in the manual and installation videos provided with each Growing Dome. Many people find that it becomes an exciting family or community event, much like a barn raising. Watching this unique, round structure go up in the matter of days is just breathtaking and extremely satisfying. You also receive unlimited technical support during business hours from our staff at Growing Spaces, so if you can’t figure something out we’re here to help.
Growing Spaces recommends that at least 2 people participate in the installation, though some tasks can be done alone. We tell customers to plan on your self-installation to take at least twice as long (4-7 days) as our estimated installation times for a certified crew from Growing Spaces (2-4 days). This is because of the learning curve involved with building any greenhouse for the first time. For building our greenhouse kits, we recommend that you have at least basic construction skills (such as experience working a drill, saw, hammer, and ladders). Scaffolding is required for the 33′ and 42′ Growing Domes. We also recommend a higher experience level for these sizes, or to hire a local contractor.
- Estimated build time is four to seven days for sizes 26’ and smaller.
- Estimated build time is six to ten days for the 33’ or 42’ Growing Domes.
- With the purchase of a Growing Dome, you will have access to the online, step-by-step instruction manual.
- Online manual includes pictures, drawings, models, YouTube videos, and written instructions.
- The components are pre-cut, color coded, and labeled.
- Two-six people, depending on size, are recommended to construct the kit, though some tasks can be done alone.
- Only basic construction tools and experience needed for sizes 26′ and smaller.
- More experience is required for the 33′ and 42′ Growing Domes, as well as the ability to work on scaffolding.

Supervisor Only and Supervisor Plus One Installation
The supervisor only installation option is available for the 15′ through the 33′ Growing Domes. Receive help from one of our Certified Supervisors with installing your 26′ to 33′ Growing Dome greenhouse kit. They will work with the owner and/or owner-hired crew to install the green house. The supervisor assists with the installation as well as instruct the locally hired crew members, volunteers and/or owners. We provide technical support by phone leading up to the installation date to guide you through the process of preparing your site. Installation of our solar greenhouses with just one supervisor usually takes 2-4 days depending on weather, Growing Dome size, number, and expertise of crew. Supervisors are hired for a specific number of hours (20 – 40), depending on the size. Separate travel costs for the supervisor will apply. Separate shipping or delivery costs will apply. Lodging expenses for the Growing Spaces supervisor will apply.
The Supervisor plus one option is available for the 22′ through the 42′ Growing Domes. Due the height of the 33′ and 42′ Growing Domes (15ft. 5in. and 16ft. 6in. respectively) and the weight of the struts, we have determined that the installation is much safer and smoother when we require at least a Supervisor for a 33′ and a Supervisor plus one installer on the 42′. The Supervisor plus one installation usually takes 2-5 days depending on weather, Growing Dome size, number, and expertise of crew. The Supervisor and additional crew member are hired for a specific number of hours (20 – 40), depending on the size. Separate travel costs for the supervisor plus one installer will apply. Lodging expenses for the Growing Spaces supervisor and installer will apply.
- Included with Supervisor Installations:
- Estimated build time is two to five days, depending on Growing Dome size, weather, and expertise of locally hired help.
- Supervisor will advise and work with you and/or locally hired hands.
- Hired for a specific number of hours (20-40), depending on the size.
- Supervisor, minimum, required for the 33’ and Supervisor plus one crew member required for the 42’ Growing Dome.
- Installer(s) labor and meals included.
- Supervisor will spread gravel for gravel ring foundation option only.
- Not Included with Supervisor Installations:
- Guaranteed complete installation. The Supervisor will give instructions on how to complete any remaining tasks.
- Separate travel and lodging expenses may apply.
- Site preparation and foundation installation.
- Designing and installing raised beds.
- Sourcing soil and filling raised beds.
- Undersoil Ventilation System installation.
- Owner Supplied Items
Full Crew Installation
The full crew installation option is available for all Growing Dome sizes. We can provide a Certified Growing Dome Installation Crew to assemble your geodesic Growing Dome in 2-5 days, which is the easiest option for owners to get up and growing fast. We provide technical support by phone leading up to the installation date to guide you through the process of preparing your site. You’ll find we have an efficient, friendly, and accurate crew that takes pride in their work and that understands the product extremely well.
The full crew installation labor cost varies depending on the Growing Dome size. Installation of some packages and upgrades for the greenhouse kits are additional. Separate travel costs for the crew members will apply. Travel rates differ depending on distance the crew members need to travel. Lodging expenses for the Growing Spaces supervisor and installer(s) will apply.
