Greenhouses for Sale in Nebraska

Nebraska greenhouses serve very different settings. Near Ellsworth, Trenda and Jonathan Nielson wanted fresh produce closer to their ranch. In Omaha, City Sprouts uses its dome for food, classes, and neighborhood activities.

Growing Dome® kits are available in six standard sizes. We can help compare them around what you want to grow, who will use the greenhouse, and which seasonal challenges matter most in your part of Nebraska.

Growing through Nebraska's summer heat and winter cold

Nebraska gets wetter toward the east and drier toward the Panhandle, while gardeners across the state work with a large swing between winter cold and summer heat. Water access deserves particular attention in the west. An eastern garden may place more emphasis on moving heat and humidity out during summer.

City Sprouts added electric fans and an attic fan to its Omaha dome. As the garden fills in, clear paths for air movement and seasonal shade can help manage the hottest part of the year. Powered equipment also makes electricity part of the project conversation.

Winter planning begins with the crops you want to keep and the temperatures they need. City Sprouts' 2024 story describes fresh herbs and greens in the dome on a sunny winter day. Our heating and cooling guide explains the seasonal equipment choices, and the Omaha calculator below lets you compare temperature goals or enter a ZIP code closer to your garden.

The Nielsons chose a 22-foot dome after seeing all six models in person. City Sprouts uses a 26-foot dome for gardening, classes, and shared activities in Omaha. The 26-foot is also the most common model in our current Nebraska records.

Fresh produce close to home in Ellsworth

Trenda and Jonathan Nielson wanted fresh produce closer to home in Ellsworth, where the small local market offered few choices. After touring the demonstration domes in Pagosa Springs, they chose a 22-foot Growing Dome for their family.

Their 2025 story shows tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, figs, and table grapes filling the greenhouse during its first summer. A repurposed steel tank became the central raised bed, with hog wire used for a trellis.

A supervised greenhouse build in Ellsworth

Construction began in May 2025 with a Growing Spaces supervisor, the Nielsons' roofer, and another local helper. They assembled the dome in three days, then turned to the beds and garden inside. Trenda recommended supervisor support after working through the build herself.

The foundation-wall photograph comes from that project. On an open rural property, wind exposure and the foundation and anchoring choices belong in the planning conversation before assembly begins. Our installation options explain the available ways to assemble a kit, while the foundation guide covers preparing the base. For an exposed property, the local design requirements and our wind and snow tables help narrow the structural configuration.
