
Growing Spaces, LLC. Joins Colorado Environmental Leadership Program
Pagosa Springs, CO – Growing Spaces of Pagosa Springs will be recognized Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts for achievement of Bronze tier environmental leadership by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. At the 15th Annual Colorado Environmental Leadership Awards, Growing Spaces will join other Colorado companies officially recognized as entities that inspire and challenge other organizations to higher levels of environmental performance.
The Colorado Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is a voluntary program that encourages and rewards superior environmental performers that go beyond the requirements of state and federal environmental regulations and move toward the goal of sustainability. Growing Spaces is one of 33 Colorado entities to be recognized this year as a bronze level achiever in the ELP, being acknowledged in the manufacturing and industry category. A combined total of 158 Colorado-based entities are recognized in the ELP at the bronze, silver and gold achievement levels. In order to be part of the ELP, entities must meet basic requirements in addition to outlined sets of beyond compliance requirements that demonstrate how they have made significant achievements in improving the environment in Colorado.

Growing Spaces has been leading innovation in the greenhouse industry for 25 years, offering the unique Growing Dome to local, national and international clients. In daily business, Growing Spaces strives to reduce energy use and utilize renewable energy. The company generates approximately 90 percent of its own power utilizing a grid-tied solar electrical system with battery back up, captures solar heat to warm its manufacturing facility, utilizes solar-charged power tools, a solar-powered forklift and manufactures greenhouses that create optimal environments for growing fresh, organic, nutritious produce year-round using only solar energy.
