Galileo Greenhouse to School Lunch image

Last month, we posted a video filmed at the 42′ Growing Dome construction site at Galileo School of Math & Science in Colorado Springs, CO. This month, we get to share the finished project! The collaborative efforts of Galileo School, Pikes Peak Urban Gardens, District 11’s Good Food Project, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, and Colorado Springs Permaculture have brought this fantastic project to fruition, and the kids benefit. The students get to enjoy the harvest from the greenhouse in their school lunches. They even have enough to share with other schools in the district. More school gardens are already being planned after everyone was inspired by the success of this project at Galileo School’s recent open house. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Growing Spaces

This byline marks posts written collectively by Growing Spaces staff where no single contributor is the primary author. Growing Spaces has designed and built geodesic Growing Dome greenhouses from Pagosa Springs, Colorado since 1989, with more than 2,000 installations across 50 states and 14 countries. Posts under this byline draw on shared expertise from the team: gardeners working the production trial domes, design and engineering staff, installation crews working on customer sites, and customer experience staff who walk owners through configuration and long-term operation. When a post belongs under one person's name, it carries that person's byline instead.
