Fall Fest Open House

When: Saturday, September 12th, 2026, 10am–3pm Where: Growing Spaces’ Campus 1860 Majestic Dr. Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

Join us for a day of informative talks and discussions, fun activities, regional vendors, refreshments, giveaways, and plenty of time to connect with the Growing Dome® community. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour all six sizes of our demonstration Growing Domes and explore the features, layouts, and growing possibilities of each one.

Planned activities include:

• Tours of all six Growing Dome sizes
• Pot painting and yard games
• A chance to win a Growzebo™ Greenhouse in our special Fall Fest giveaway*
• A bouquet competition, with a $50 Growing Spaces gift certificate for the grand prize winner and $25 gift certificates for additional winners

*No purchase necessary. Must be present to win. One entry per eligible attendee.

Fall Fest Speaker & Activity Schedule

10–11 a.m. | Growing Dome Owner Q&A

One of our most requested sessions returns! Bring your Growing Dome questions for Production Manager and longtime dome gardener Matt DeGuise and Brand Ambassador Shelby Lucero. Together, they bring more than 20 years of Growing Dome knowledge and experience. You will also have an opportunity to hear from other Dome Owners, exchange ideas, and compare notes about what is working in their gardens.

11 a.m.–Noon | Safely Preserving Your Harvest

Learn how to preserve your harvest safely with the always-engaging Terry Schaaf from Archuleta County CSU Extension. Terry will share trusted resources for tested recipes, along with important food-safety and cleanliness practices that can help you confidently enjoy the fruits of your labor long after harvest season.

11 a.m.–11:30 a.m. | Breakout Session: Your Guide to Buying a Growing Dome

Growing Spaces team member Laura Dollar will provide a concise overview of the Growing Dome buying process. From site preparation and foundation choices to ordering, delivery, and installation, she will walk through our Buyer’s Guide and explain what to expect along the way.

Noon–1 p.m. | Vermiculture with 4 Corners Worm Farm

Frank and Wendy of 4 Corners Worm Farm will introduce attendees to vermiculture and the role worms can play in turning organic waste into nutrient-rich, biologically active castings for healthier soil and plants.

1–2 p.m. | Winter Soil Amendments with Paonia Soil Co.

Paonia Soil Co. will share insights on building and maintaining healthy, biologically active soil through the winter months. Founded in 2012, the Colorado-based company produces fully mineralized, living organic soils and soil conditioners designed to support beneficial microbes and a diverse soil food web. Learn more about how thoughtful soil amendments can help create fertile growing conditions and support healthier plants season after season.

1–1:30 p.m. | Breakout Session: Fall Fest Bouquet Competition

Put your flower-arranging skills to the test! Individuals and teams can choose from our flower bar and create a seasonal bouquet for a chance to win Growing Spaces gift certificates. Space is limited to eight entries.

2–3 p.m. | Growing Dome Pond Care

Growing Spaces team members Shelby Lucero and Laura Hamilton will share practical information about caring for your Growing Dome pond and making the most of this important part of the greenhouse ecosystem.

3 p.m. | Growzebo Giveaway Drawing

Bouquet Competition

Put your flower-arranging skills to the test in our Fall Fest Bouquet Competition! Individuals and teams are welcome to create a seasonal bouquet from our flower bar, with Growing Spaces gift certificates awarded to the top arrangements.

How it works:

• Limited to 8 entries
• Enter as an individual or a team
• Each entry will receive 1 mason jar to use as a vase
• Choose up to 20 stems total from the flower bar
• Trim stems, remove leaves, and rearrange your flowers however you like
• You’ll have 15–20 minutes to complete your bouquet
• Once time is called, arrangements are final
• Please use only the flowers and materials provided for the competition

Bouquets will be judged on:

• Overall appearance – 40%
• Creativity – 25%
• Use of color and texture – 20%
• Balance and proportion – 15%

Arrangements will be numbered for anonymous judging. In the event of a tie, judges will select the bouquet that best captures the spirit of Fall Fest.

Prizes: $50 Growing Spaces gift certificate for the grand prize winner, plus 2–3 $25 gift certificates for additional winning arrangements.

4 Corners Worm Farm

Frank and Wendy of 4 Corners Worm Farm in Cortez have been raising worms since 2021, turning organic waste into nutrient-rich, biologically active worm castings that help build healthier soil. Stop by their booth to learn more about worms, castings, and soil health, then catch their scheduled talk on vermiculture and regenerative growing practices.

Archuleta County CSU Extension

Archuleta County CSU Extension connects local residents with practical, research-based information from Colorado State University on gardening, sustainable living, healthy eating, youth programs, and more. Their team regularly works with the community to answer questions, share trusted resources, and help people put useful knowledge into practice. Stop by during Fall Fest to learn more about the programs and support available right here in Archuleta County.

Backyard Boxes

Backyard Boxes designs durable, thoughtfully built cedar raised beds that combine strength, function, and a polished look for home gardens. Co-founder Jameson will be joining us at Fall Fest, and Growing Spaces customers may already recognize their work from the custom cedar beds available as an add-on for Growing Domes. Stop by to learn more about their approach to raised-bed design and what goes into building garden beds made to last.

Paonia Soil Co.

Founded in 2012, Paonia Soil Co. is a Colorado-based, family-owned producer of fully mineralized, living organic potting soils and soil conditioners. Their blends are designed to support beneficial microbes and a diverse soil food web, helping gardeners create fertile, productive growing conditions with less fuss. Stop by to learn more about living soil and how thoughtful soil building can support healthier plants from seedling to harvest.

Rio Bravo Nursery

Newly opened Rio Bravo Nursery in South Fork will be joining us for Fall Fest! Get a jump on your fall garden with vegetable starts available for purchase, plus mums and bulbs to bring a little seasonal color inside or outside your greenhouse. Rio Bravo Nursery is located at the former La Garita Nursery location in South Fork.

Past Events

Open House & Seed Swap

When: Saturday, March 21st, 2026, 10am–2pm Where: Growing Spaces’ Campus, 1860 Majestic Dr. Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

We had a fantastic event last year, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’re bringing back the Spring Open House & Seed Swap for 2026. We couldn’t have done it without your support.

The seed swap will occur between 10 am and noon as supplies last. Please arrive by 10 am if you plan to share your seeds. You may bring your seeds in bulk—we’ll provide envelopes, or pre-package and label your seeds for distribution with the common name, Latin name, year harvested if you know, and any additional details. Preference will be given to those who bring seeds to swap. You may bring home-harvested seeds, cuttings, and starts, or if you bought too much commercial seed, feel free to share that as well. Tours of all six sizes of Growing Dome Greenhouses will be available throughout the event.

We’re also excited to announce our guest speaker, CSU Extension Director of Archuleta County, Cindi Galabota, will present a talk at 11 am on seed starting. Exclusive to this event, we’ll have a limited supply of Paonia Soil Co.’s soil and amendments for sale that we don’t usually stock. Not only will you go home with some new seeds or plants, but you’ll be equipped with the soil and knowledge to start your garden out on the right foot (or root, as it were).

Parking will be available on the Growing Spaces campus, behind the main building at 1860 Majestic Dr (the second driveway, look for the banners/signs). This is a rain-or-shine event.

Rhythms on the Rio

Telluride Mushroom Festival

When: Wednesday, August 12th–Sunday, August 16th, 2026 Where: Telluride, CO Growing Spaces is excited to sponsor the Telluride Mushroom Festival, a beloved Colorado event celebrating all things fungi.
