General Manager – Pagosa Springs, CO

Growing Spaces is currently seeking a General Manager for the Pagosa Springs facility. The position is primarily responsible for improving efficiency and increasing profits while managing overall operations. This position works closely with the owner to develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the organization functions efficiently. This includes employing marketing and sales strategies that drive increased revenue for the organization. 

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all staff ensuring employees work productively and develop professionally.
  • Direct reports include the Growing Dome Advisor Manager, Marketing team, HR Specialist, and Production Manager.
  • Develop strategy, processes, training, and policies to ensure the Growing Dome Advisor team meets monthly sales goals while running efficiently. 
  • Provide guidance and support to the marketing team to ensure a strong lead metric and leads to sales conversion rate.
  • Foster and lead innovative efforts to improve the sales process, increase sales conversions, handle objections, and close sales.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve current sales and marketing tools to ensure the teams are completing high-value work that is done efficiently, with high quality and return.
  • Develop robust customer support process ensuring we work collaboratively, and customer issues are quickly resolved by the entire team
  • Successfully resolve any customer escalations that can’t be resolved by the team managers.
  • Provide leadership support in the management of the gardeners.
  • Be the on-site senior leader for all managers including HR.
  • Supervise the safety of all employees, making sure our safety program is being followed and resolving any safety concerns immediately. (snow/ice/etc.)
  • Collaborate with the CGO on all software, capital purchases, and building maintenance items.
  • Ensure all training materials and policies are current.
  • Facilitate the monthly leadership meeting.
  • Represent Growing Spaces at local events
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible; willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
  • Ability to set sales goals and achieve them effectively.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
  • Ability to always work with respect and cooperation with fellow employees and customers.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing methods and supply chain
  • Must be committed to always working safely.

Experience/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 7+ years in managing a large operations team is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in sales and marketing roles
  • Experience owning a large budget and reviewing financial statements
  • Experience in gardening, greenhouses, or construction a plus
  • Product manager experience is welcomed.

Travel:

Travel is normally not required if working from the Pagosa Springs office. There might be an opportunity to attend a marketing event, which may require travel.
